  1. How many customers a day would you have?

    We averaged around 170 customers a day but since installing the Chicken Express system we have probably increased our clientele by about 30%. I know this because we are seeing new faces and our turnover has increased by about $3,000 per week! In the month of October just gone, our reports showed that we have attracted about an extra 500 new customers for the month. As well, our orders to our drink and convenience line suppliers have also increased as our influx of customers are purchasing other items as well as the Chicken Express. I also used to be able to get my book work done at work but now all I do is cook chicken and chips and more chicken and chips and I have to take my bookwork home to complete! Lol

  2. How did the installation process go? How was the training Chicken Express provided?

    The installation went really well and we couldn’t ask for better training. Jarrod is a true professional. It was very well done. By the time he was finished we felt a lot better and
    very confident.

  3. What part of the training was most valuable to you?

    The best part of the training for me was learning the correct procedures to produce a
    good product and keep it consistent. I don’t know why we were so worried as it is so simple to operate.

  4. How long did it take for the Chicken Express system to start performing?

    It performed right from the very beginning. Straight away it just walked out the door. I don’t think we really anticipated how well it would sell. We underestimated how good it would taste and the customer demand for it. In the first week we sold 60 chickens through the Chicken Express system. We sold a lot of chips beforehand but our chip sales now have increased by 30%.

  5. Is it easy to operate?

    It is so easy. There are just basic systems and procedures to learn. Just do that and you can’t go wrong.

  6. How were you feeling in the lead up to your installation?

    We were feeling a bit nervous and a mix of excitement and anticipation. It was just the unknown really. We were worried about being able to produce the product correctly. But
    once Jarrod arrived and started the process of installation and training, all our worries
    were alleviated as Jarrod knew exactly what he was doing and made everything so easy for us.

  7. It’s been a few months now since you installed your system, is it still selling just as well as when you first installed it?

    Most definitely it is. We have a POS system that produces a report every week on what we’re selling. It quite clearly shows the quantity of Chicken Express products we are selling.  Our
    turnover has increased  by  around $3,000 per week consistently. It has done wonders for our cash flow. We are also very motivated to get behind this product as we have the licenced territory for and are the only Chicken Express in Roma. We have put up our menu and advertising signs in different areas of the town and as part of our system installation, we received beautiful glossy, professionally done flyers which we have distributed to businesses and different areas around the town to increase awareness of what we have.  This has really worked as we get phone orders for the product and see new faces coming in for it all the time.

  8. How has it affected sales of your other products?

    My orders of drinks and other convenience lines have all increased. We’re selling more drinks and more convenience lines as a result of installing our Chicken Express system

  9. Overall how would you rate the Chicken Express team? Have they provided a good level of customer service to you and your business?

    Definitely. Every person from the Chicken Express team we have been involved with I cannot fault.

  10. Has it taken away from your other food product sales?

    It has taken away a small amount from our other hot box food, but that may be because we don’t focus on that as much anymore as the chicken sells so well. I’m not concerned about it as there is much better profit margin in the Chicken Express products than any of the other hot box items.

  11. What do your customers think of the chicken? Do they give you any feedback?

    We have a Facebook page and we use that to run competitions to give away different Chicken Express products. We’ve had some great comments on there. In general people say it’s just beautiful chicken. It’s crispy, moist real chicken.

  12.  Why did you decide to add a Chicken Express system to your business?

    For the last 2 years business has been really quiet. We introduced the hot box food which did ok but we were looking for something that was different and that would give us an extra edge.

  13. Before you installed your Chicken Express system, you were already selling food to go. What type of food products did you sell? 

    Fish & Chips, whole roast chickens and hot box food.

  14. What types of products do your customers buy?

    Mostly Chicken Express, our fish and chips, some of our other hot box food, drinks and convenience lines

  15. What type of customer do you mostly attract?

    We’re actually positioned in a great location that is on a main thoroughfare in Roma. We’re surrounded by a good mix of residential, schools and not far from us, an industrial area. We attract a steady stream of tradesmen, workers, local families and school kids.

  16.  How long have you owned Foodworks Roma ?

    We’ve been in this business for 9 years. We previously owned another convenience store in St George.

  17. What do your staff think of it?

    We only have one employee and she finds it simple to do and has nailed it down pat.

  18. What would be your advice to other people considering adding a Chicken Express     System to their business?

    Don’t think twice! Just go for it! We have no regrets. You will have no regrets!
